Spring Planting

We are trying to start seeds this year for the first time.  We purchased a bunch of seeds last summer from Gardenocity seedlover.  I think we mainly wanted the herbs at that point, but we also bought a bunch of stuff to start this spring.

  • Basil, Sweet
  • Mint, Spearmint
  • Coriander
  • Coleus, Improved
  • Lupine, Russell's Mixed Colors
  • Celosia, New Look
  • Coleus, Carefree Mixed 25 seeds
  • Morning Glory Scarlet O'Hara
  • Morning Glory, Heavenly Blue Flower Seeds
  • Salvia, Bonfire
  • Petunia, Purple Mixed 15 seeds
  • Petunia, Bonanza Mixed Colors 30 seeds
  • Foxglove
  • Basil, Sweet, Purple Ruffles

I planted the coleus, petunias, foxglove, celosia and lupine on March 22nd.  Nothing has sprouted yet, but I'll give it until the weekend before I start worrying.  Although the lupine says that it takes 30 days to germinate, so that will take a while.

Last week I ordered another bunch of seeds from Baker Creek Heirloom Seed company.  They have a great catalog, 84 pages of heirloom seeds.  They arrived today, and they threw in 2 bonus packets, bonus!

We also ordered a bunch of canna bulbs from K Van Bourgondien, which will ship at the end of April.

Hopefully everything will grow.
