Gomoorhead / 702 Communcation mail server changes

I was assisting a coworker in getting thunderbird setup to use the new servers that 702/gomoorhead just switched over to, which has been a month long struggle for her since their response when she asked for help was "we don't support thunderbird."  All their instructions are geared towards specific packages, and they don't just tell you the new servers, ports and requirements.  So here is the info in case anyone else just needs it.

  • Imap - No more imap service, pop only.
  • POP - mail.702mx.com  port 995 SSL
  • SMTP - mail.702mx.com  port 25 - StartTTLS Required
  • Username for POP and SMTP is yourname@gomoorhead.com

Looks like the old server is still up, with IMAP access so you can transfer over your sent mail, and any other folders.
